How to Ship a Printhead Internationally Without Damage

How to Ship a Printhead Internationally

We receive printheads from 40+ countries. Here is what we recommend.

Step 1: Prepare the Printhead

  • Drain excess ink gently with a lint-free cloth
  • Cover the nozzle plate with original protective cap or lint-free cloth
  • Seal the ink inlets with tape or silicone plugs

Step 2: Packaging

  • Anti-static bag first (critical!)
  • Bubble wrap — at least 2 layers
  • Rigid box — never use padded envelopes
  • Fill all gaps to prevent movement

Step 3: Shipping

Recommended: DHL Express, FedEx, UPS Customs: Declare as "Electronic Component for Repair" at $50-100 USD

Common Mistakes

  • No anti-static protection — causes invisible electrical damage
  • Only bubble mailer, no rigid box — printheads arrive cracked
  • Not draining ink — causes mess and damage
